IV Therapy Clinic in Fairview
At our chelation therapy clinic in Fairview, we offer IV treatment to chelate heavy metals from the body. Our chelating agents help detox from toxins and improve your health.
How Chelation Works
When metals like lead, mercury, iron, and arsenic build up in your body, they can be toxic. Chelation therapy is a treatment to remove these metals so they don’t make you sick. We use special drugs that bind to metals in your blood. At our Fairview Clinic you get the chelating medicine through an intravenous (IV) tube in your arm. Once the drug has attached to the metal, your kidneys remove it and your body eliminates it through your urine.
Who Can Benefit from Chelation Therapy?
Chelation therapy can benefit individuals with heavy metal toxicity, cardiovascular disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, and neurological disorders. Smokers and anyone exposed to lead paint, leaded gas or welding fumes could feel improvements to their health. It may also help with heart health, arthritis, and MS. Some people who were needing foot amputation, still have pink feet, after getting this treatment.
Chelation Therapy Treatment Process
Before starting treatment, patients undergo an initial consultation and evaluation to determine if chelation therapy is right for them. The IV treatment process typically lasts between 2-4 hours and is administered in our clinic in Fairview. The number of treatments needed varies depending on the individual’s condition.
Is This Therapy Safe?
Chelation therapy has virtually no risk. It is the approved medical treatment for metal poisoning, including acute mercury, iron (including in cases of sickle-cell disease and thalassemia), arsenic, lead, uranium, plutonium and other forms of toxic metal poisoning.
Does Science Support Chelation?
In 2002, the National Institutes of Health did a big study on chelation therapy, called TACT. It found that this treatment reduced the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other heart problems.
Health Coverage?
The cost of chelation therapy is currently NOT covered by Alberta Healthcare. It MAY be coveredd by private insurance. Fairview Chelation Clinic is authorized to write a tax receipt*.
